Whole House Air Purifiers Help Keep Your Family Healthy

We rely on our heating and cooling HVAC system to keep our home comfortable all year long, these systems do not clean the indoor air on their own. To help promote cleaner, healthier indoor air, SDN Air Group can install a whole house purifier directly into your current HVAC system. This will remove unwanted pollutants, including:

  • Germs

  • Viruses

  • Molds

  • Dust

  • Allergens

Adding an air purifier captures and destroys these pollutants before they ever reach you and your family, making for a healthier home.

Our customers love our attention to detail and reliable work. They know they can trust SDN Air Group to get the job done. We don’t take that trust for granted. So Contact Us today for polite, friendly, and professional service with fair upfront pricing.

How Do UV Lights Work?

UV Lights work by destroying contaminants with beams of lights that operate at a frequency that breaks them up or deactivates them. The light’s wavelengths cause the DNA of the molecules to break down, which then permanently destroys their ability to replicate. As a result, the organisms will die. Also, bacteria and mold prefer the dark. UV Lights shine within the ductwork to minimize the dark areas, therefore decreasing all chances of the microorganisms to survive.

When you have UV Lights installed, the air gets purified as it passes through the chamber that houses the UV light bulbs.

  • High output germicidal UVC kills or deactivated germs, viruses, and molds.

  • Germicidal UV technology trusted by hospitals.

  • Helps reduce the spread of the flu, colds, COVID-19, and others.

  • Keeps all your equipment cleaner and working more efficiently.

Filtration Stop Pollutants In Their Tracks

Filtration through commercial “mechanical” air filters are thicker and can easily trap smaller particles than standard HVAC filters that most systems have installed. Most of these filters have a MERV (Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value) rating. The higher the MERV rating, the more types of pollutants are removed, including extremely small particles.

These types of filter systems are installed in the ductwork on the return side of the air handler or furnace. They simply stop pollutants that flow through it when the blower fan is running.

SDN Air Group’s filter systems are designed to effectively remove:

  • 99.9% of airborne particles like dust, bacteria, mites, pollen, and pet dander

  • 90% of germs like bacteria and viruses

  • 50% of odors from chemicals, pets, cooking appliances, and cleaning products

Will My Home or Office Benefit From Humidity Control?

Humidity control is all about striking the right balance. Air that’s too humid can promote mold growth and allergy symptoms. On the other side of the spectrum, indoor air that’s too dry can lead to undesirable effects. If the humidity levels in your space become too low by either an aggressive cooling cycle or too high of a heating cycle, it can be harmful in a few ways. Including:

  • Dry throat

  • Allergies

  • Dry, itchy skin

  • Frequent coughs

  • Eye irritation

  • Headaches

  • More frequent illnesses (viruses love dry air)

  • Increased static

  • Dry and cracking wood furnishings

By controlling the humidity, it’s possible to significantly reduce all of these to live more comfortably in your home. One of the best and easiest solution is humidity control systems attached to your HVAC system. It will silently work in the background to keep everything at an optimal humidity level.

Whole House UV Lights FAQ

How long does it take to install a UV light?
SDN Air Group can install any of our products in a couple of hours.

Are the UV Lights harmful to you, children, and pets?
Direct contact with UV light can be harmful. However, HVAC UV lighting is placed within the Heating & Air Conditioning system. This means no one will be exposed to the UV light. Because of this, the only organisms that will actually be in danger are the microbes, viruses, and germs.

Do the UV Lights work even if the AC is off?
Depends. UV Lights will work all the time if you run the fan 24/7 in order to circulate it throughout the house for the best results. However, if you do not run a fan continually, the UV light will only work while the system is running.

Does the light need to be on 24 hours a day?
This will depend on how predisposed your home is to mold, mildew, and viruses. To be on the safe side, you might consider leaving the light is on at all times.

How often do I have to replace the UV lights?
The UV lights we recommend will have to be replaced after two years.
